Jolien is a researcher with fieldwork experience throughout sub-Saharan Africa. With a background in Development Studies and over 13 years of experience working for development and research organizations, she has specialised in natural resources management, livelihoods and value chains.
Her studies and advice serve a wide range of clients among international organisations and governments. Jolien is dedicated to designing high-quality studies, applying both quantitative and qualitative methods to find answers to complex issues. Her main interests are in forestry, agriculture, (small-scale) mining and renewable energy.
