Cocoa value chain development in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea
The International Trade Centre (ITC) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, in close cooperation with the Centre for the Promotion of Imports from developing countries (CBI), work together in the fourth Netherlands Trust Fund Programme (NTF IV). The aim of this programme is to increase the competitiveness of producers and exporters in developing countries.
Ethics at Work helped ITC design projects and interventions, coordinate value chain research, liaise with partners, and select suitable companies and cooperatives in Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone. These activities were aimed at strengthening the position of small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) in the cocoa sector by improving market access, building capacity, creating trade linkages and implementing enabling policies.
