Netherlands Enterprise Agency / CBI

We are involved in several programmes for the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) and the Centre for the Promotion of Imports from developing countries (CBI). CBI was an agency of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs that became part of RVO 2015. These are some of our activities for RVO and CBI:

Training and coaching on sustainable business

On behalf of CBI, we provide training and coaching on sustainable business to companies in developing countries, such as Egypt, Pakistan and Ethiopia. We help them develop ambitious CSR strategies.

Child labour risk assessments

We conduct risk assessments for companies that apply for RVO’s Fund against Child Labour (FBK). This fund helps businesses that (1) want to carry out research into the root causes of child labour and seek to take measures to prevent it in their international supply chains, and (2) are taking measures to prevent child labour in their own organisation.

Facilitation of workshops and conferences

For CBI, we chair meetings on many different sectors, such as cotton, fish and seafood, motion control, garments, footwear, tea, honey, processed fruits and vegetables, and natural ingredients for health products. We also facilitate CBI peer groups, bringing together representatives from the European private sector (importers, wholesalers, retailers etc.), trade associations, research institutions and sector experts to share views and experiences on key market and trade trends and developments.

Tailored intelligence for companies in developing countries

Rupa Ganguli and Bart Slob did research on the market opportunities for shapewear and beachwear from Colombia, as part of CBI’s portfolio of tailored intelligence product on export opportunities to European markets. CBI produces general market intelligence studies for about 25 sectors.
