Research and policy advice on agricultural value chains
With the Royal Tropical Institute (KIT), we carried out a comprehensive study on promoting agricultural value chains in the member countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The study included six case studies: dates from Saudi Arabia, milk from Egypt, red meat from Turkey, groundnuts from the Gambia, palm oil from Malaysia and cotton from Pakistan.
We presented the findings of the study in Ankara, at a meeting of the COMCEC Agriculture Working Group. As a result, the 31st Ministerial Meeting of the COMCEC welcomed several of the policy recommendations we made.
